Tifton - - The state is teaming with a South Georgia university to help people find jobs.
Wednesday, the Georgia Department of Labor and ABAC co-sponsored a job fair for students and people looking for jobs.
Almost 80 vendors were on site showcasing their companies. This is the first time the university partnered with the labor department. ABAC administrators say it's a beneficial collaboration.
"We've worked closely with the department for years and it seemed like they were giving fairs, we were doing fairs. So why not join together and make it a bigger fair and make it a win-win for everybody," says Maggie Martin of ABAC Student Development.
Companies as far as Virginia and the Carolinas were on site.
Martin says the school would like to partner with the state to offer this job fair every year.
